Pharmacy Drive-Thru Service
Curb-side pharmacy drive-thru service.
The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center Outpatient Pharmacy Department is offering a curb-side pharmacy drive-thru service. Veterans will drive to the front circle to be COVID-19 screened and then will be directed to drive to a blue tent in the parking lot to speak with a Pharmacist. The Pharmacist will process their prescriptions and will provide counseling services if requested. The Veteran will then be directed to a parking spot and a Pharmacy Technician will bring the medication directly to the vehicle. Although the best option is to use mail order service, we are happy to offer this solution that encourages proper physical distancing. The average wait time for prescription processing is fifteen minutes.
Veterans are reminded this service is only for Veterans utilizing a vehicle and is not intended to be used for walk-ins. In the event of thunder and/or lightning, the services will follow the National Lightning Safety Institute recommendations and activities will be suspended for thirty minutes after the last thunder is heard. At this time, Veterans will utilize traditional methods for picking up prescriptions.
